I don't know what you're talking about my man, princess refine doesn't have the pixel look at all, I see none of the Refine versions in the screenshots. Also the only DOS version appears to be a chinese one. The windows version is for 2001 apparently, making things more confusing since Refine only came out for windows in 2003 (2004 for PS2). Even then, the only way to play this in english is to either use the fan translation which I don't know how far is completed or playing Refine, which I read has problems.

Ok something is not quite right in the game info section here. The screenshots look like they're from "Princess Maker Refine", the remake of 2003 for windows and PS2. However the text says it's the 1992 original version for DOS, which according to igdb is also actually from 1991. I haven't downloaded it to find out which version it actually is, but either the screenshot or text needs to be corrected.
You can check data for the 2 different versions here: https://www.igdb.com/games/princess-maker https://www.igdb.com/games/princess-maker-refine

Japanese 2001 Windows reissue version provided by someone on Archive.org (since the reissue is from 2001, it could work on Windows XP, not tested) : https://archive.org/details/princess-maker

translation shortness is a big issue for westerners to play those cute jrpg titles.

I wish more Princess Maker games were translated, its such a cool sim genre we need more of. Most of the Western copycats are crap.
