@Kojo, regarding persisent lag, I was able to fix it using Claude Code, it is related to EnumDevices call which detects input devices every ~1.5 seconds and lags the game for ~300ms every time, see more info here, it's the same cause: https://www.reddit.com/r/TrackMania/comments/1gbyww4/potential_solution_to_the_enumdevices_lags_in/

I was able to fix it by patching the .exe file to no longer call EnumDevices during menu and gameplay, which eliminates the persistent lag completely on Windows 11.

I can upload the fixed .exe file but I would prefer if it was integrated as part of the Widescreen fix if possible (memory patching), any idea if there's a way to get in contact with ThirteenAG to get this sorted out for everyone?

If anyone is having issues with game progress not being saved, you need to unset the "Read-only" attribute from the game's save directory, Windows 11 sets it automatically for folders created in userprofile folder. It does not work if you remove it through the Properties dialog for some reason.

Optionn A) Run this in command prompt:
attrib -r "%USERPROFILE%\Documents\My Games\Activision\SHReK the THiRD"

Option B) Run this in Powershell:
(Get-Item "$([Environment]::GetFolderPath('MyDocuments'))\My Games\Activision\SHReK the THiRD").Attributes -= "ReadOnly"

I extracted the File I downloaded the Setup then installed the DirectX 9, gave Administration permission to the Shrek the Third.exe, as it was required but then It wouldn't open like I would press it noting would happen! So I uninstalled it via Revo Uninstaller and then again re-installed it to a different Volume still didn't work.

Is this because I am using Window 11? Some old C++ files are missing is this the reason my game is not running? The game is old but really bro! I wanted to relive my childhood but the Game won't work bro! 😭 Help Plz....

The game runs on Windows 11, but there is persistent lag that can be annoying. It's still playable, but has anyone else experienced this issue or found a fix?

The game works after using the NoCD launcher, but it doesn't save progress. Every time I exit the game, all progress is lost when I get back, anyone got the same problem?

guys with this game the pc port graphics is really bad,try dgvoodoo to make graphics better,try copy d3d9 dll also and d3d8 dll,if the game lags delete d3d9 dll and keep d3d8 dll it will play better ive tried it

Btw there is a demo for this version. I have the demo disc but as I never had a capable enough XP PC and it only allows you to run it in XP afaik (nothing newer, nothing older), I haven't been able to play it.

I downloaded the #2 file from here: http://www.gameburnworld.com/gp/gamefixes/shrekthethird.shtml and extracted it to the folder the game stuff was in and it started working ^_^ I think I'ts safe. If it asks to replace say yes.

Does this still work in 2022? on windows 7?
