for those having problens
the game dont run on Win11 only Win10 you can solve this intalling a virtual machine of Win10

download the reloaded version it already have all patchs and instal the game

the tranlation need to be extracted to the root of the game (same foulder as the .exe) not the "mods" foulder

to open graphics config you need to creat a shortcut, right click it and go to proprerties and on destiny add -O after the quote it should look like
"C:\Program Files (x86)\The Fall Last Days of Gaia\thefall.exe" =O
dont remove the quotes

Bought this game many years ago. Crashed immediately from the main menu. No way to fix it either and it happened across different versions of Windows. I guess some people here at least were able to get it to run, but judging by how many are commenting about errors here, I'm guessing it's still pretty bad.
No idea how bad or good of a game it actually is but that kind of fatal error is not a good sign.

So I got the game to install but yeah, tried everything including dgVoodoo2 and can't get the dang thing running. No clue what to do as I tried everything I know of.

Hey did anyone ever figure this out? I get an 0x00000142 error if I try the Reloaded install method and if I try the other 2 cd version I can't get it to recognize CD 2 when installing. Tried everything, any help here please??

The ISO for the extended version DVD is available here:

This extended version already includes all official patches (up to 1.10). Thus, the only thing I had to do after installing from the DVD ISO was to additionally install the English translation patch by copying the files into the game installation folder.

how to install english languague ? i downloaded booth translation files and copied them to mods directory, but it dont work.
do i have to copy them to different place ?

Easy Way to Install:
convert to ISO, unzip both ISOs into the SAME folder
then run setup.exe, you don't need to mount anything.
just click OK when it asks for the disc it installs just fine

Having the same problem where when it asks for CD 2 during the installation, if I mount it and continue, it just freezes.

I'm using Daemon Tools Lite. It works fine up to that point, but then it just stops. I tried mounting the CDs simultaneously in separate lettered drives, but the installer doesn't recognize it unless it's in the same lettered drive.

For anyone who isn't having a problem, it would be helpful if you included which program you're mounting these own (assuming you aren't just burning them to CDs, I haven't had a CD drive in years) and if you're doing anything specific.

Hmm so I can't install this game..
mounted with PowerISO but the DRM pops up to say I need to run the game on older windows versions to install .. i try the regular setup but when ask for CD 2 and a mount the CD it won't continue the installation .

Plze help?

I bought this on sale when i was a teenager and while the game was not that Good i loved the Title music made by "Darkseed" who to this day, is one of my favorite bands

I'm super new to trying to get old games to run properly on windows 10. I've tried running the installer for this several times and getting the error:

During the installation, an Error occured.
[Errno 22] Invalid argument
File "setup_res\setup.py",line 901,in Update"

I just really can't seem to figure this out, I've been trying for a few hours and would really like to play this game. So if anyone has more clear directions than what's above that would be awesome.

How do I insert CD2?

The game works on Windows 10 just fine, but I'm getting (0xc0000142) on Windows 11.

Guys, to the english translation to work do this:

1) Copy the contents of ''English Translation Patch'' into the game's ''mods'' folder;

2) When you open the game, go to ''Editor'' and then click on ''File'' and select ''Back to the Start Menu'';

3) There you go! The translation will be enabled and the game will be on english (texts only).

Note: If the game gives an error, just open it as an Administrator and perform the same procedure and there will be no problems.

Note 2: It may be necessary do this procedure everytime when you open the game.

To those whose still looking for the english patch of this game, it is not a patch to overwrite some files. It is a mod. To do it, download the english translation patch then, open the folder where you install the game. Look for the "mods" folder then, open the translation patch, copy and paste the "scripts" and "zones" in the "mods". And the game is translated into english. I hope this help you and enjoy gaming!
