The Twilight Zone

DOS - 1988
Also available on: Amiga

Twilight Zone is a good game in the same vein as Mike Berlyn's Altered Destiny: a hapless hero gets sucked into an alien world where he must find a way back home and saves that world in the process. Good puzzles, reasonably intelligent parser, and engaging plot make this an underrated game. An all-text mode is also available for IF purists.

This is a terrible game and you should not play it. If you do:
1) The solution can be found at https://solutionarchive.com/game/id%2C563/Twilight+Zone.html
2) To prevent save game corrupting errors, do not play with the regular DosBox. I finished it in DosBox-X, where the bug does not seem to occur.

Have fun, masochist.

Just be aware, this game will crash. Often when you past the puzzles to get the gem, just as you get it from the king, the game will hard crash, and the save file will get corrupted. This has happened in DOSBox. Also, something to note. one copy of the game, just at the end, it won't recognize the final command. :S

I remembered watching the TV show (my uncle introduced me to the classic TV show). Cool that it's making a come-back this year too. I'm going to play the game using DOSBox. I saw some YouTube videos about some people playing it. Figured that I'd give it a go.

Wow. One of the worst purchasable adventure games I've ever played. The response to "examine calendar" is "a series of boxes with numbers in them." Who would waste their time playing this game???
