Installed DOSBox-X, then within that installed Windows 3.1. Had to install a driver (Sound Blaster 16) to get the sound to work, but at long last I have it running! I played it through four times before I really struck it rich; really learned a lot. I really wish this version had the voice lines; I remember those from my childhood, and they were really good, but this version has only music.
Download the 500mb Release File and extract it. In "TheYukon" Folder go to "cd" folder and mount the "Yukon_Trail.ccd" with wincdemu software. Go to the mounted image, double click the "YUKON.EXE" file and the game should start.

Couldn't get it to work, BUT you can also play it online here: https://oregontrail.ws/games/the-yukon-trail/play/ . So much fun! Super nostalgic.

Was able to get this running on Mac via a virtualboxVM after installing a windows Xp virtual machine. Need isomagic to mount the file but apart from that works great, couldn’t get the sound to work though, which was a massive bummer, when I first played this game I was too young to be able to easily read and so the voices were my fave

This is cool to find this still out there. Fun Fact: My father played and recorded all the ragtime music in this game (recorded via MIDI)

The Macintosh is too complicated, but windows 3.1 works for the game really well though. You tube.com has a video on how to do it though. it helps you to put windows 3.1 in dosbox, everything to play some great windows 3.1 or dos videogames. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=F_FZ3l1PXQc

DL doesn't work on Windows 8. Wish this game worked online the same as Oregon Trail; this was the one I really loved.

I got this working on Windows 11. But you need a few extra software to run it.
