Wow- I played the original Titans of Steel, downloaded I think from Gamehippo in probably 2000 or so. An incredibly in-depth game ahead of its time.

I'm still playing this game, and still have the original CDs, box and manual. I'm planning on putting videos on youtube. It's just a shame that the original programmers haven't put the game on Steam, as that would be a perfect platform for battling against other players; I've not been able to play my other Titans friend via the TCP/IP option.
When you see flaws in existing Titan designs, design your own titan and see how it falls ... sorry, succeeds.

Probably the best turn based mech game ever made, if you don't care about graphics. Fully fleshed out system lets you train up pilots from nobodies to heroes, and fully customizable mechs give you ridiculous freedom for what designs you want. Toss fully customizable planetary situations (only thing missing is cityscapes), and you've got all the mech on mech combat you can want. I've put a ridiculous number of hours into playing this.
