Based on the engine of Conflict: Middle East, this is, in M. Evan Brooks' words, "A simulation of the Korean War (1950-51) and a hypothetical invasion (1995). Detailed and accurate; but while the Korean War went from massive thrust and counterthrust and back again to a static attritional warfare without maneuver, the program only covered the initial year. Granted that the later years were totally different types of warfare, the lack of historical completeness was disappointing. The interface was noteworthy for its awkwardness."

Here are some tips and tricks for playing the first scenario, and also a few questions about gameplay:
As the UN forces: The Commies start the war in a very good position, and you will not have a turn at the wars onset. You will play out your initial turns with only ROK armies (which are a joke, they suck) and some very weak US armies. The best strategy is to put up delaying actions with some of your ROK troops while fleeing the rest to form a perimeter around Busan. Busan must be held at all costs as this is where most of your reeinforcements. Do not feel tempted to stand and fight in a defense of Seoul, the ROK armies will collapse and you will lose your left flank. Time is on your side, hold the Busan perimeter while reeinforcements come in. After a few weeks launch a naval invasion into northern south korea, at Inchon or one of the other ports. Make sure the area is a port and lightly defended. Once this is achieved break out of Busan and drive north also driving north and east from Inchon. With luck you will crawl back to the 38th parallel and keep the Reds at bay. DO NOT ATTACK THE NORTH! If you cross over the 38th parallel the Chinese will intervene and send massive armies as well as their air force. You cannot conquer the north, Macarthur was delusional!
Use your air force in an almost all ground attack role, unless the Chinese join- then allocate some to air superiority.
As North Korea: You must win the war in the first 3 months if you want a prayer. You start firmly with the advantage and it might seem like you are winning but the UN armies will grow while yours stay roughly the same. Strike hard to take Seoul, and then attack Busan with your best armies. A victory at Busan will secure your position and hinder further UN efforts. Use your smaller armies to secure the other SKorean cities.
If you fail to take Busan before a UN buildup your best hope is to withdraw to NKorea and hope that the enemy AI will cross the 38th and trigger Chinese intervention. With their help it is possible to again take the offensive.
Hopefully these tips help!
Is there a way to theoretically win as the UN by occupying all of the north? Usually the best the UN can hope for is a stalemate...
