How to Play
How to play the game on modern systems:
The easiest way is to use Full-Rip, it is pre-installed English version of the game:
- Extract Full-Rip archive in some folder on your hard drive
- Run Setup.exe to add required registry paths to your system
- Right-click on MonstersInc.exe - Properties - Compatibility - Set "Run this app in compatibility mode with Windows 98/ME" and "Run as administrator"
- Launch the game and play. If the game doesn't work in compatibility mode with Windows XP - try to launch it in compatibility mode with other version of Windows (Win95, Win2000, WinXP, etc.)
If you want to install the game from CD - check this thread for instructions. Also, you will need to enable Indeo video codec, which are disabled in all Windows OS after Windows XP. Indeo codec was disabled due to security reasons, because hackers could use it for remote control, don't forget to disable it after you finish to play the game. Here's how you can enable Indeo codec:
- For Windows 7 & 8 users: install K-Lite Codec Pack, then open Codec Tweak Tool, click on ACM/VFW (x86) and check all boxes with Indeo codec to enable it. Save the settings
- For Windows 10 users: follow this guide
If you cannot make the game to run on new Windows systems - use Virtual Machine with Windows XP 32-bit, the game should work in it

Hi, after installation my game isn't opening. I set compatibility to Windows XP (service Pack 2). I installed czech version. Is problem in that version?

Game finally ran for me on windows 11 when I set it to run in compatability mode for "Windows XP (Service Pack 2)".

How does one change the language? I've downloaded the file for the Swedish version, but how do I set up the game so that it is played in swedish?
