Digital Integration's first sim that was published by Electronic Arts still stands the test of time as an accurate simulation of F-16 Falcon (given the hardware limits of its time). Outstanding campaign and training mode first seen in this game would become DI's hallmark.
As you progress through the game, you will be assigned to different squadrons, each based in a different location. You can pick what mission to fly from a number of available mission types: Scramble (dogfight), Hammerblow (ground attack on military targets), Deepstrike (ground attack on bridges, factories etc.), Tankbuster (anti-tank), and Watchtower (reconnaissance).
Once more, DI outdid themselves with a solid sim that would undergo a heavy remake a decade later.

I remember replacing Falcon 1.0 with this one. A very good game, but quite difficult. Has anyone managed to finish this game up to Operation Conquest?
I was jealous of my Amiga owning mate James Ingleby and PC owning mate Richard Smith because of the quality of the games they could play. F16 Combat Pilot was as good as it got on the C64 and it was pretty decent for the beige box. Graphics were very basic, the static screens weren't bad and the game play as you would expect. I did have a couple flight sims on the C64, but I am hard pushed to think of one that I enjoyed as much as this.
The file “ground.ovl” found in the directory of f16.exe can be moved away from the path...ie directory seen in the path statement,DOS....
When it’s removed and f16 is run; no questions are asked and the armament and fuel are maxed out
I remember this back in the day, even back then, I laughed at them, designating the Sidewinder, as the AIM-120...like others point out, the AIM-120, is the AMRAAM.
it is very good i have played sice 1990
It's fun to see some of those descriptions. Fx, Aim-120 Sidewinder, that's wrong.
It's Aim-9 Sidewinder....Aim-120 is the Amraam...
But great game,..played countless hours back in the day..and switched to Falcon 3 when that was released...
Engine sound is missing.
I played this in the early 90s. So nostalgic !
Hi, I have just fired up this game on the Commodore 64 after 30 years. I've lost the manual, what is the password anybody? Thank you.
i'm trying to play it online but it seem f16.exe is missing.
Could anyone fix it please?
My first game..
THANK YOU
EDIT: Thx nostalgic for manual ;)
I love this game!!
Had problem using R-F16CP.COM as it said game was already cracked and typing F16.exe just froze the dosbox.
Then switched from SVN-Daum version to standard Dosbox v0.74 and it worked.
Thx for the upload.
this game is very good i have played it in 1989 all the day and night i need it for windwos7
Can't run the game,
Anyone has a clue on how to install it? When I launch R-F16CP.COM, it tells Can't Open File!
Thanks
I miss this game alot
the crack is included with this game. you should run R-F16CP.COM from doxbox, then type anything as password.
I love this game
