The beta goes down at 08:00 Paris time, in a few minutes. We rebuild the database from the live site. It comes back in about an hour.
Problem: DosBox - not enough memory. Solution: Edit 'dosbox.conf' file, 'dosbox' section, 'memsize=16' is the default, increase to 64, save file, try again. Simple experimentation of doubling the number until everything worked. 64mb is where everything began to function, including the 'instructions'.

This is not an official F-Zero game. It never came out DOS, thank you anyway! :)
