Hired Team: Trial

How to Play

This page is for original Hired Team: Trial game. If you want to play this game, we recommend to check Hired Team: Trial Gold - re-release of the game with patches and fixed bugs

Notes:

• Hired Team: Trial was FPS game with focus on multiplayer matches, like Quake III Arena. But the game has singleplayer campaign where you play on multiplayer maps against the bots. Multiplayer part of the game is still working, you can connect directly through IP-address or use LAN emulators like Hamachi or Tunngle
• Looks like the patch v2.20 has some issues, there's been reports that after the patch the game starts crashing on modern systems. Also, that patch is not compatible with original Russian version of the game. So if you have issues with patched game - re-install the game but don't patch it
• The game was using CD Audio, which means that you need to have the disc in the drive to hear the music. But you can use Music Fix, that fix has audio-files from CD converted to .OGG format. To use it simply copy all files from music-fix folder into Hired Team Trial/Bin folder, then you can change the volume of the music in winmm.ini file. Music Fix is using the files from CDAudio Proxy wrapper, if you have any issues - download the latest version of that wrapper
• That Music Fix has been made for original Russian version of the game, but should work with other versions too. The archive also includes NoCD for Russian version, you can try to use it on other versions, simply replace ShineEng.dll in Hired Team Trial/Bin folder (don't forget to make back-up of replaced files). Check this thread for more details about Music Fix and NoCD (it's on Russian, use translation machine)
• Optionally, you can try to use NoCD for Hired Team: Trial Gold on Standard edition of the game, it probably should work too
• The game should work on modern systems, but if the game doesn't run or you have graphical issues - use dgVoodoo. The game with dgVoodoo has been tested on Windows 10, it works fine
• Disc image for the Lithuanian version of the game is in .MDX format, you will need Daemon Tools Lite to use it. Also, you must mount the disc image in virtual drive when you run the game, check this page for details
