Hot Wheels: Stunt Track Driver

To those having issues with Bladez1992 No-CD fix try this:
1. Install the game normally using the LGU installer
2. Navigate to the install directory "C:\Games\Hot Wheels Stunt Track Driver" by default.
3. Open SDCDLAUNCH.bat in notepad (the white Square file with gears on it.)
4. Add "-ExecutionPolicy Bypass" to the powershell line, it should look like this:
powershell.exe -ExecutionPolicy Bypass -file "C:\Games\Hot Wheels Stunt Track Driver\SDCDLAUNCH.ps1"

Your game should now launch!
Windows ships with the Default script ExecutionPolicy set to false/no-unsigned so scripts cannot execute. This is a good thing as powershell can be very dangerous if used maliciously. This fix allows for temporary bypass of that setting for the Stunt Track driver No-CD fix. Do not set your system execution policy to unsigned ever, unless you intend to.

I installed both ISO version and LGU repack but I cannot find an actual file for the ISO and I have been struggling to find the ISO itself. The iso version only contains the contents of the ISO but not the iso itself

After hours I finally did it. just needed LGU Repack by Bladez1992
extract in a folder.
click Hot Wheels® - Stunt Track Driver, install it and dont change the folder (should be something like C:\Games\Hot Wheels Stunt Track Driver)

then mount the iso (C:\Games\Hot Wheels Stunt Track Driver\ISO) with wincdemu (or similar) but IT MUST BE drive letter L:

then, on the folder C:\Games\Hot Wheels Stunt Track Drive click the stunt app

For those having trouble getting this to work nowadays like I did do this! This fixed the game opening asking for a CD with the repack.

1. Go to your Hot Wheels Stunt Track Driver (Default is C:\Games\Hot Wheels Stunt Track Driver)
2. Right click "SDCLAUNCH.ps1" and click "Edit"
3. On the new screen where you see code, click before "Write-Output" so the typing blink is behind all the words on line 1.
4. Hit Shift+Enter two times, so it moves Write-Output to Line 3
5. At the empty line 1, paste this code:
# Elevate script if not running as Administrator
If (-not ([Security.Principal.WindowsPrincipal] `
[Security.Principal.WindowsIdentity]::GetCurrent()).IsInRole(`
[Security.Principal.WindowsBuiltInRole]::Administrator)) {

6. Save changes and close the application and you are all set just run the game through the .ps1 and NOT the command prompt .bat script or the shortcuts.

This will ensure that it runs the script as an admin so it can use the Disc Drive L since the command prompt script no longer works. Then if you would like Create a shortcut of the .ps1 file and rename it and add a custom icon if you would like and use that to laucnh the game

Hi so anyone having trouble on W11 you can just Copy Paste the Powershell script into and Admin Terminal. Should also work in Admin Powershell. Just install the repack and you should be g2g

The game works fine on windows 10. All I had to do was download the ISO, open the zipped file to find the ISO file then mount it to a virtual drive. I used UltraISO free version. Troubleshoot compatibility on the setup.exe file then run as admin. Game installed and I was up and racing in no time! Make sure to check if the ISO is mounted before you launch. I had no problems with it asking for the CD.

As someone who just wanted to share the nostalgia of this game with my son, I was finding no luck of getting this game to run on Windows 11. I'm sure there are plenty of others out there in the same boat. After a failed attempt to seek clarity from the creator's Discord, I decided to take matters into my own hands. The process I've outlined below has successfully worked on two separate Windows 11 machines, and I hope it helps you too and any one else my age trying to relive and enjoy this great game. (fair warning, the comment box for this website isn't big so if the layout or grammar is off, please cut me some slack)

Start by Downloading the Game ISO Version & Install the Game from the ISO (~400MB):
Once downloaded, right-click on the ISO file and select "Mount" to create a virtual drive. Open this new drive, run the setup file, and follow the prompts to install the game.

Next, you'll need the LGU Repack by Bladez1992, which includes a handy No-CD Fix. This version is optimized for use without the game disc and should be around 562 MB.

After downloading, use a tool like 7-Zip or WinRar to extract the contents of the LGU Repack into a new folder. Once that's done, run and complete the setup from the HWSTD.msi file.

Additionally, in the extracted files, look for a file named HWSTD1.cab.

Remove the Old Data Folder: Navigate to your game's install directory, typically found under C:\Program Files\Stunt Track Driver or its variant in Program Files (x86) on 64-bit systems. Delete the existing "data" folder there, making sure the game isn't running.

Make a new folder in the same location and name it "data". Then, move all the contents from INSIDE the HWSTD1.cab file into this folder.

****Adjust Permissions if Needed: If you run into permission issues when deleting or copying files, right-click on the problematic file or folder, go to Properties Security tab, and check your permissions. You might need to click Edit to modify them, ensuring you have permissions to Read & execute, List folder contents, and Read.

With all that done, the game should now be ready to run smoothly on your Windows 11 system.

When i start up game it is asking me to insert a cd

My uncle made the music for this game and the sequel. I remember playing the debug versions on his computer at his house.

does anyone know if this works on windows 10?
