That is just insanely wrong. The source code has no .exe or executable to be found. There is a releases page, where the developers compile the binaries themselves, there is even sha256 has to ensure it's the real deal. Not to say you cannot be had from GitHub, but you can be had from steam or GoG as well, what a foolish notion.
The latest version compiled on GitHub as of this post is two weeks old, hardly abandoned but quite nice to see honestly. There is little to no real danger from a known main-GitHub, the danger comes when you start downloading everything randomly from gits you don't know enough about, a problem not found here.
GitHub is a collaborative code development platform to help devs keep track of code as it's changed and allow others to check and branch code. It's owned my Microsoft, it isnt some shady website.

@ 0101010 2021-02-01 Opensource never comes in .exe, you open a file that could be a deathtrap. And yes so it is illegal.

LOL I take it NOT JOE is being a troll, either that or he does not know what he is talking about. 99.9% of sourcecode on github is opensource code meaning it's legal to download and modify as you wish, that fact that it's opensource means you can view the code and see for yourself it's not malicious, you can also check the hashes of the file on the site and ten compare them when you download.
This game is open source so it's legal.

Hackers use github to store source code. It's well known that source code is dangerous and illegal to use.
