Nethergate

@Theodis man please share it!!

The full original game isn't lost. I emailed Spiderweb Software last year asking for a copy and they emailed a link to it to me just giving me a warning that it probably won't work on modern computers.

Sadly only the dumbed down remake is available because Jeff Vogel refuses to sell the original or allow it to be hosted anywhere as abandonware, going so far as to threaten to get his lawyers involved.
Jeff Vogel's games used to be great, the remakes are horrible and streamline away many elements that made the originals good. The remakes are completely soulless as well.

The full original version of this game from 1998 is completely lost. Jeff Vogel refuses to sell it and you can't find it on the internet. I can't play the remake version on my Pentium I retro machine and this is very annoying.

Why Jeff doesn't release it as freeware as he did with the Exile trilogy? In his last Reddit AMA, he said he can't support it. Well... Why can't he just put a giant sticker next to the download button saying "I DON'T SUPPORT THIS VERSION ANYMORE, PLAY AT YOUR OWN RISK. IF YOU SEND ME A EMAIL ASKING FOR HELP ABOUT IT, I'LL MURDER YOUR WHOLE FAMILY!!!"? That would solve the problem.

I believe this old version was uploaded here? Well, Jeff threatened to sue this site if the admin did not remove it. That's nuts!. You don't sell the game and nuke it from the internet?.

I'm afraid the original version is forever lost in time. People will forget about it eventually and that's very sad.
