Quarter Pole

DOS - 1993

Good to Firm and Quarterpole are two of the better horseracing games available on the market.

Both Good to Firm and Quarterpole are full-fledged stable management game that lets you control every aspect of the trade, from buying horses and training them to entering them in the race and betting big money :) Quarterpole is arguably the best horseracing game ever produced (at least until Action Games' own follow-up, Quarterpole Plus). The game offers a staggering array of options and great graphics. Good to Firm is less known, but is also a solid simulation of day-to-day management without Quarterpole's bells and whistles.

How do you save games? When I tried to save a game, the game just freezes.

Download the Pre installed folder
Unrar that folder.
Go inside sub folder Qpole/dos then go inside folder quarterp, then you will see 2 sub folders floppy and at side of that Qpole. Copy the Qpole folder do where your dos games are located.
Inside the Qpole folder is a exe called Qpole.exe
Point your Dosbox config to that exe. Game should start for you.

You need to use mount or subst to make the game think it is installed from root dir. Its programmed to install from floppy, but you can use any letter you want. For me drive d works. So i added Mount d c:\games\qp and DOSBox started with drive d: and this path mounted. But first you have to put all installation disk in this path. Thats all. Start dosbox change drive to d and type install.

When trying to download it says something to the effect that this is not the original file or just a copy and won't let me install it using the DOSbox
