Robinson's Requiem

DOS - 1994
Also available on: 3DO - Amiga - Atari ST - Mac

This is one of the most intriguing game concepts of all time-- and the most frustrating.

Your goal is simple: escape from alien planet Alcibiade. The process, however, is an ordeal that will leave masochistic gamers chuckling with joy: in addition to the mundane tasks of hunting, you must deal with diseases that strike inexplicably and amputated limbs. The game claims to monitor over 100 variables from your temperature to malaria and poisoning, but thank god if you know what levels they are-- since you'll be seeing the death scenes so often in this game even real doctors will wince. If you value your sanity, do NOT play this game-- seriously-- go play the sequel Deus instead.

I tried many things in the config file , sb1, sb2, sbpro1, sprob2, evem sb16
but sound doesnt seem to work, there are just too many possible options that could work but none did at this point, I need help because without sound this game isnt't enjoyable. I remember back in the day it had sound but I needed to install a special driver like sbinit.com on the old hardware but that old hardware isn't running dosbox and old computers have other issues if they run too long they just break.

If you can win his survival game on the first try, you can try to survive in the jungle.

saying deus is more fun, or generally better in any aspect other than graphics, than it's predecessor, is like being given the choice between a bag of potato chips and a bag of toenail clippings and going straight for the toenails.

This game is fucking awesome. Deus sucks

You'll have to tweak the sound card emulated by DOSBox, sb16 won't work : DosBox wiki
