How to Play

NoDVD for European version showed many false positive warnings, here's VirusTotal scan report. It is safe to use, just add the files of NoDVD to antivirus exceptions, here's the guide how to do that. The game with NoDVD has been tested on Windows 10, it works fine

Notes:

  • If the installation doesn't start - try to launch Setup.exe in compatibility mode with old version of Windows (98, 2000 or XP)
  • It is recommended to install all versions of Microsoft Visual C++ Redistributable and NET Framework for the correct work of the game. Also it is recommended to install K-Lite Codec Pack for the correct work of in-game videos
  • The game works on DirectX 9, so if you're using Windows 8, 8.1, 10 or 11 - you need to enable DirectPlay: Go to Control Panel, and select 'Programs'. Select 'Turn Windows features on and off', click on 'Legacy Components' and check the box 'DirectPlay'. Select OK, once the installation is done, restart your computer
  • The European version of the game has ProtectDISC DRM protection and requires the disc for launch. Unfortunately, ProtectDISC DRM blocks virtual drive apps like Daemon Tools Lite, Alcohol 120% or similar, so the game most likely won't recognize the ISO image in virtual drive. So the best way to play the game is to use NoDVD, it "breaks" DRM protection and allows to run the game without the disc. To use it simply replace the files in game folder with files from NoDVD archive. NoDVD for European version showed many false positive warnings on VirusTotal, the usual case with NoCDs/NoDVDs, the file is safe to use; simply add the files of NoDVD to antivirus exceptions, here's the guide how to do that. Polish version is DRM-Free and doesn't require the disc for launch
  • If the game doesn't work - try to launch it in compatibility mode with old version of Windows (XP, Vista or Windows 7) and as administrator
  • If none of the keys except WASD work, set English as the default system language of your computer: Click on Start -> Settings -> Time & language -> Language & region; choose a language from the Windows display language menu
  • It is recommended to play the game with a controller, the game should work with almost all models of gamepads. If the game does not recognize your gamepad - try using one of the additional tools to configure the gamepad, check the PCGamingWiki guide for controllers
