Hard to find any flaw in Theme Hospital, the game was critically acclaimed and had a lot of success. Graphics are cartoonish and very well animated, diseases are totally hilarious (especially the descriptions) and a really funny multiplayer mode:
Up to 4 players can compete with their own hospital, close to the others. Everyone share the same community of sick people and the goal is to make more money than the others. VIP patients are proposed to everyone simultaneously, the quickest player to accept will get it. You may also refuse difficult patients and send them to another hospital to overload them, but should they manage them, they will make more money!
When buying a new square of land, a bidding competition starts, allowing you to make your competitors to spend more. You can also create a salary war to debauch the employees of the other hospitals. Another vicious weapon: "dirty bombs" you can send to your competitors. They take some time to blow up, but if the player spot it, he can send it to another hospital and so on until it blows!

EA Origin now has this title available. Price: under $5. They have it working with DOSBox...but it still has a hitch with the mouse drivers sometimes. Still, if you need a version set up for you for a modern computer you can get it there.
Im missing out on the classics so I have to find the most classic of all classic games to experience how classic they were back in the old days
There's a Windows XP and onward Windows OS compatible version available on themehospital.co.uk so if you're facing some compatibility issues, it's best to try that out.
Game works great but I have to play with no sound.. theres a terrible distorted bell ringing sound when you mouse over ANYTHING. The sounds that are supposed to come with the game are fine but whatever was added to the clicks kinda detracts from the game. Other than that its great! 8/10

1. If I were to increase the heat of the radiators for the first 29 or 30 days of the month and then reduce it for the last day, would I only be charged the lower amount? But will the patients then register this as being cold or will they still be warm? The question is whether the warmth level of patients and the cost is measured daily or monthly.
2. Does the time of year matter for the radiators? Whenever I have played I usually reduce the heat during the summer months (I suppose summer is relative). But I don't know if this makes a difference. Do patients want radiators throughout the year?
One of the greatest sim type games ever. Great humor and art style. I always keep coming back to this. Bullfrog was amazing back in the day.

ok for other people i have found out how to save if you put your mouse pointer to the top of the screen it brings up a file menu you hold down the LMB and release it when over the save function

Xander, try a program called Dosbox. you can google it... Let's say you extracted this game to the directory C:/Hospital. Now run Dosbox and type: mount c c:/hospital - now lets say the .exe file is called 'hospital', so just type: 'hospital' and hit enter. Make sure you run setup in the same way to configure the sound... Ignore the quotation marks.
I used to like creating rooms and putting doctors and nurses but I got rid of the door so they could not escape from the room.
The music won't work on DOSBOX i can get the game and sound effects to not work but the music isn't anyone know what im doing wrong?

No music, and the only only difficulty option is 'doctor'. Any fixes? Its annoying, and takes the depth away from the game. Its a shame...

Hi everybody! I found the answer about how to change the language of the game.
You have to open with notepad the file named "hospital.cfg" and write (where there is wrote LANGUAGE="ENG") the other kind of language you want in play (ex: "GER"). Bye bye!

I'm getting bugs on this one. Using DosBox, I can't set the Policy settings, which makes it a micromanagement nightmare. Also the research doesn't show up right. Maybe I did something wrong?
I'm sorry, but the idea that sites like GOG are "helping" game developers and boosting the economy is a joke.
Original development companies for most of these games don't even exist anymore and in many cases have had their properties bought and resold several times over.
Paying for abandonware on a site that uses a cheap windows/dos wrapper or worse freeware DOSBOX is insulting.
I'd rather donate my money to sites like this one. Or if your feeling really generous to the coders, artists, designers and producers of these games who received little more then salary for 70 hr work weeks and teeny tiny bonuses if they were lucky.

Okay this copy has some corrupted files, better fix them. One reason why it lags, also when I use CorsixTH for this there's always an error. Sorry but DO NOT DOWNLOAD THIS COPY!!! The game itself is 100% great.
The game lags like hell when opened in DOSBOX/D-fend Reloaded. I even went to EA Support since they now OWN Bullfrog. They said to download it again. Did not work. Good game but lags.
