How to Play

NoCD showed multiple false positive warnings on VirusTotal scan, here's the scan report. All warnings are generic, about suspicious/unsafe file, it's the usual thing with "cracked" executables, NoCD is safe to use. But if you want 100% safety, you can install the game on Virtual Machine

The game with NoCD and Xliveless has been tested on Windows 7 64-bit, Windows 10 and Windows 11 21H2, it works fine, the game supports high and widescreen resolutions up to 4k. You may experience some small troubles when you play the game on modern systems, check our Guide and Notes for details

Install & play guide:

• Install the game. It is recommended to install the game not in default path, but in some other, non-system folder, like C:/Games/Crash Time 4, so you won't have troubles with NoCD or fixes
• After you installed the game - use NoCD, simply copy CrashTime4.exe from the archive and put it into the game folder, agree to replace the original file
• Now install Xliveless, it will disable Games for Windows LIVE in the game - simply copy files from the archive and put it into the game folder
• Once you installed the game with NoCD and Xliveless - delete Games for Windows LIVE to avoid possible troubles with Xliveless
• Open the directory with the game and find CrashTime4.exe. Right click on CrashTime4.exe -> Properties -> Compatibility -> Set "Run this app in compatibility mode with Windows 7" and "Run as administrator"
• Run the Launcher (CT4_Setup.exe) and configure the game settings
• Launch the game and play. If the game doesn't work in compatibility mode with Windows 7 - try to launch it in compatibility mode with other version of Windows (Windows XP, Vista, etc.)

Notes:

• If the installation doesn't start - try to launch Setup.exe in compatibility mode with old version of Windows (98, 2000 or XP)
• European version has 3 languages: English, German & French, with full audio & text localization on English & German, and text-only localization for French language. Polish version has English audio & Polish text
• It is recommended to install all versions of Microsoft Visual C++ Redistributable and NET Framework for the correct work of the game. Also it is recommended to install K-Lite Codec Pack for the correct work of in-game videos
• The game works on DirectX 9, so if you're using Windows 8, 8.1, 10 or 11 - you need to enable DirectPlay: Go to Control Panel, and select 'Programs'. Select 'Turn Windows features on and off', click on 'Legacy Components' and check the box 'DirectPlay'. Select OK, once the installation is done, restart your computer
• NoCD is required for the launch because the game is using ProtectDisc DRM protection, which doesn't work correctly on modern systems. NoCD "cracks" DRM protection and allows to run the game without the disc. If you see error that there's not enough space on the hard drive when you copy NoCD files - re-install the game in non-system folder, like D:/Games/Crash Time 4, Windows Protection may block copying of files to system folders (like C:/Program Files or C:/Windows)
• Xliveless disables Games for Windows LIVE (GFWL) in this game, so you can play it without being annoying with it. But don't use GFWL and Xliveless at same time, make sure to delete GFWL if you use xlive.dll from Xliveless!
• If you want to play with Games for Windows LIVE anyway - delete GFWL и GFWL Redistributable that comes with the game (it is old version for Windows Vista and Windows 7), and install Microsoft Games for Windows - LIVE, that version is compatible with Windows 8 and newer systems. Then create local GFWL profile. If you play with GFWL and see error about missed xlive.dll - download it and put the file into the game folder
• If you have a problem where you only see a black screen at launch or in-game videos doesn't work - uncheck the box "Play videos" in Launcher (CT4_Setup.exe) or delete/rename the Videos folder in the game folder. The game has problems with video codecs, this problem was in the previous games of the series too
• It is possible to switch the language of audio without changing the language of interface, read this guide if you want to do that
• The game has a lot of mods, most of them can be found on Eleven-Games. Before installing the mods, you need to put this file in AFC11/Database folder. Most of the mods for the game are just new cars, here's a video review for almost all of mods. • The game has full controller support. If the game doesn't recognize your gamepad - try using one of the additional tools from PCGamingWiki guide for controllers
