Lightspeed and Hyperspeed are without a doubt two of the most underrated space sims of all time designed by celebrated Gunship 2000and F-15 Strike Eagle III designer Andy Hollis.
Although billed as "adventure/strategy" games, they are actually space sims with some adventure game elements. Still, categorization quibbles can't hide the fact that they are two of the very best-- with fluid animations, cool ships, and great interface.
In all, great space exploration sims that follow in the venerable Elite tradition. Highly recommended.

to run hyperspeed, use dosbox. Place Hyperspeed in your c:\ directory. Open dosbox and type, "mount c c:\hyperspeed" hit enter. type "c:" hit enter. type "hyper"
the game will play. you must have the manuel to input the word for the copyright or the game will freeze when the N key is pressed or when spin drive is engaged. To play the game without freezing, you must enter the word from the manuel.

I changed the game archive with a already patched one.
running hyperpeed.bat dosn't work,it still asks questions from the second half of the manual and if you get them wrong it still runs but you can't access the nav screen(n key)so you're stuck.i'm using d-fend by the way

Funny, every time I load the Game, when it goes to the Main Menu it automatically clicks on Enter New Cluster, I don't get it.

The copy protection asks for words from sections of the manual that are not there. For instance "Section 7.1.6" - but the manual only goes up to section 4.9.
