### How to Run This Ancient Software on Windows 11 (For Absolute Beginners)

1. Download the Windows version from here.
2. Download and install DOSBox to: C:\Program Files (x86)\DOSBox
3. Create a new folder named Win31 in: C:\Program Files (x86)\DOSBox\Win31
4. Unzip and copy the Helix archive into: C:\Program Files (x86)\DOSBox\Win31
5. Run DOSBox 0.74-3 Options.bat to edit the dosbox.conf file.
6. At the bottom of dosbox.conf, add the following lines:

mount C "C:\Program Files (x86)\DOSBox\Win31"
imgmount D "C:\CDROM\HELIX.cue" -t cdrom
C:
cd WINDOWS
WIN

7. Find and replace fullscreen=false with fullscreen=true.
8. Save and close the file.
9. Run DOSBox.exe.
10. Windows 3.1 will start. Your game should appear in the window behind "Main." Click on it to bring it to the foreground.

🎉 Congratulations! You now have a fully working Windows 3.1 setup with Helix installed. Sound and video are preconfigured.

#### Optional:
You can add more games by copying them to:
C:\Program Files (x86)\DOSBox\Win31

Working great in DOSBOX, this is a self contained Windows 3.1 directory so all you have to do is copy the contents to a new folder.You don't need to install this one it can be executed from the helix directory.Make sure to add an imgmount command to load the helix.img file in the cd directory i think it might need that to play properly.

Couldn't get this to work on my PC to save my life, but I got it to work on my OnePlus 7 Pro through the Magic DOSBox app. I would say if you can get some form of Windows 3.1 working in DOSBox on PC, you'd likely get it to work easily. Wouldn't have even imagined that was possible without Dertien's comment, so thanks for that.

I have the windows 3.1 version of this game which works great on adosbox (android) on the nexus 7.
