When this came out I was 2. But, when I was still young enough I remember this game and Mechwarrior 3 being the Crysis of the time. And growing up in the Appalachian foothills you can't escape NASCAR. So, relive the best days of NASCAR with this game, learn what it means to be shiny and chrome in a stock car. Heck, just be Dale Earnhardt on the best track in the sport: 'Dega.

As a kid in the 80's-90'S I had no interest in video games at all. All my friends got NES or SEGA, always speaking of MORTAL KOMBAT and such... boring things for a country boy like me. But in christmas '97 I was on holidays a my uncle's farm then I discovered a demo of NASCAR Racing on the hard drive of the farm's office computer, an already old yellowish IBM386 who barely ran the game in VGA but... I was HOOKED by the realism of this SERIOUS ! sim. Even tough I did'nt known anything about NASCAR at all here in eastern Canada ! This game IS THE reason why at 13y/o I got to work all sumer long on the farm to earn the money for me to buy my first PC, a pentium 233mmx none the less, needed to play it in SVGA mode with full details on. Nowadays it's a lovely sim to play on dosbox and it works perfectly with modern wheel/pedal combo, something I was even not dreaming of back then.

I love playing this one. The graphics aren't half bad, and the sounds are excellent. And yes, it's fun to wreck other cars.

This is a good game for Microsoft Disk Operating System! It runs smoothly on a powerful Microsoft Disk Operating System emulator like "DOSBox".

Love this game, my cd that I still have cracked and was good to find this so I could still play...anyone have any old links for mods? I saw there used to be a track editor and usa speedway"daytona" where they moved talladega finish line to middle of turn. I started playing when I was 9 in 94...here I am at 36 and play it by dragging nascar.exe to dosbox , exit game ..takes You to command prompt in dosbox....then type nascar -h and hit enter and it goes to high quality 640x480

I can actually say I have the manual for the DOS version of the game (Disc is lost, all the papers are here though). I also have the Track Pack manual and the setup instructions.
This manual is a simple setup one, that seems to be from a '96 release I believe. I'm not sure how to turn my manual into a PDF though so I'd need help with that.

Why Evry time i try to download the game so i can expiriens the fun from the real version (Not The online versions that are limidid) but when it downloads it just downloads the data.Yea Relly "Download"(Sorry From Bad Eglish)

This game has such good memories growing up still one of the best racing or at least Nascar games ever. I remember spending so much time getting my setups on the cars just right which this feature is lacking in today's Nascar games. This is probably the only game where I got so lost in working on my cars in the testing section where I logged 100 plus laps just testing the car out.

I used to play this peer-to-peer (via telephone modem) every day before school. Used to get up super early and play with a classmate for like 2 hours before catching the bus.
