How to run the Chinese version correctly
- Download Local Emulator and install it
- Right-click on the game EXE and click on Change Application Profile
- Set the Location setting to Chinese (Simplified) Legacy
- Set the time zone to (UTC + 09:00) Osaka, Sapporo, Tokyo
- Check "Falsify registry keys related to language"
- Save
And enjoy the Chinese version :)

NOTE: to do special attacks with the sword, hold the block button and then also the attack button and then press one of the combinations you've unlocked.
A very important tip.
I still dont think this is version 1.2 as the patch notes clearly say
- Player transparency is disabled in the advanced options.
however in the advanced options there is no option for player transparency. Which i desperately want to disable.

1. Install the game
2. Patch the game to v1.2
3. Go to the games installation directory and open the data00.res archive with 7z
4. Extract everything inside to the games installation directory
5. Do the same with data01.res
6. Copy the Polish/Russian v1.2 crack and overwrite
7. Create a shortcut of the Shade.exe and add -cfg to the target (eg \SHADE.EXE -cfg), that'll open the config window when you start the game
Now your US version of the game is cracked and will be v1.2
The files you need to crack the game are:
EAX.DLL
MISCMATH.DLL
SHADE.EXE
ENGINE.DLL
ENGINE_MMX.DLL
The first three are identical between the Polish and Russian cracks.
ENGINE.DLL and ENGINE_MMX.DLL are different between the two. So try Polish first, and if that doesn't work for you, try Russian.

Are those ISOs DRM-free?
Sorry for the inaccuracy, the Czech version is already version 1.2, so no patch is needed I will try to get older patches, but the ISO that is here is the Czech most up to date version without protection.
Crack for 1.2 has only polish version, czech version 1.0 is without protection but you can download 1.2 patch for cz version, I will test if it works and send it here for adding
This should cause that also the cz version will be 1.2 and will be executable without problems, I looked that the en version does not really have a crack for 1.2
Ok i learned more. This is version 1.2 with the version 1.0 nocdcrack. So its trash. And you get none of the update benefits.
Nobody has ever made a nocd crack for the 1.2 US version
it says version 1.01 but none of the 1.2 patches work, it says this is for the US retail version of the game. I tried the 1.2cz patch, the us patch, the uk patch, but i couldnt get my hands on the 1.2 EU patch.
Then i noticed something weird at the bottom of the patch notes on patches scrolls (or it may have been some other website) "this update version 1.01" or something. SO i figured this version was already updated and 1.2 is just called 1.01 in the game. But things the patch notes claimed have been added i can not find them anywhere, like the ability to disable transparency of the player model. Its not inside "advanced options" like the patch notes say. And i really want to disable that dumb transparency feature

Gun sounds/footstep sounds dont work until you go to audio options- disable EAX, set sound to low, and hz to 41000
Played this game as kid, and its bad game in general, but I have to replay it now to fulfill my nostalgic needs.
Another one of those clunky games, with broken fighting mechanic, bad hitboxes but good idea on the paper. I played it back then, and even then it felt bad.
It seems to be a cool game at first, but on the stage in Egypt it becomes too frustrating and thus unplayable do to bad fighting system, cheating AI and impossible platforming sections. So yeah, after playing this game up until that level, I just ALt+F4'd it and removed it from my hard drive. Again, it was fun up until that level. And since then, it became too frustrating.

Holy shit, I spent countless days looking for this fabled game. When I was but a child, my cousin had pirated this but never let me play and it always seemed so interesting.
