Consider Breakout, pinball, and a shooting game all rolled into one. Knock out bricks by directing bouncing photon balls with your paddle while dodging falling cows and a storm of dogs. Fire your monkey gun or one of numerous other weapons to eliminate blocks more quickly. Custom weapons require smart use of coolants and venting to prevent overheating. If you make it far enough, there are enemy attackers waiting to stop your ball from breaking all the bricks.
Superball Arcade Mania was created by the Canadian studio Cheeky Monkey Software, with Felix Leung as its main designer/programmer, and grew out of an earlier game called Atomic Superball: The Chicken Edition. The main game appeared in 2003 under the names Superball Arcade and Superball Arcade Mania, with Cheeky Monkey releasing versions such as v3.40 by August 2003. Big Fish Games also distributed its own build in 2003, referenced at the time as v2.2.0 BF, while Alawar later released another edition in 2004. Over time the game continued to be updated, with later versions reaching at least 5.4. The confusing part is that the title and version numbers varied between Cheeky Monkey, Big Fish, and Alawar, even though they were all essentially editions of the same breakout-style game with slight variations.
