1. Mount and install ISO Version (not original)
2. Delete BeachLife.exe in game folder and unzip 1.0 NOCD SpringBreak.exe to same folder
3. Update with 1.1 US patch
4. Delete 1.0 NOCD SprinkBreak.exe, unzip 1.1 NOCD BeachLife.exe to game folder
I can't install patch 1.1 due to an "unknown version" error during an installation. Is there some way around it?

For anyone who has problems with the FPS. All you need to do is install the game and "close" the minimap in the top left of the game itself, then the game will run smoothly.
After downloading the BeachLife.iso file from this website I was able to install and play the game on Windows 11, but it was slow to run, as @HEISENBURG mentioned, copying the DDraw.dll file from the System32 folder to the game install folder solved the issue!

hey guys, im trying to run this game inside a vm (im a mac user) which run Windows XP SP3. The game was installed successfully but when I try to run it, it crashed just after the EIDOS logo animation. Anyone experiencing this? thanks
For anyone not able to play the game:
I happen to have an original cd-rom. Since the cd has to be inserted in order to play and I'm lazy, it seemed better to write it to an .iso and use that.
Didn't work, I got "Wrong disc inserted" and some other message.
So maybe, just maybe, the game looks for your physical cd-rom player and if the physical cd-rom player doesn't cooperate: tough luck. In which case the solution would be to actually burn a cd from the .iso and install and play it from there.

Small update on adding the .dll files for the slow frame rate fix by HEISENBERG
The DDrawCompat .dll is the best option since you get a watermark with the dgVoodoo on some versions.
You want to test some of the versions of DDrawCompat though. The latest release v0.5.2 crashes the game on opening on Windows 10 but the v0.5.1 works perfectly (and most importantly without a watermark in the bottom right like the other .dll sources)

Was struggling with BeachLife and you saved me. Game works smoothly.
I'm on Windows 11.
Installed the game (which installed directdraw 8 and rebooted).
Patched the game to 1.1
Updated ddraw.dll
Overwrote SpringBreak.exe with the NoCD Version.
I launch the game and get title screens. I can browse the menus and select a starting island. As soon as I try to start, the loading screen appears for a split second, and the game crashes.
I've tried running as administrator. I've edited the properties of SpringBreak.exe to run in compatibility mode with Windows XP.
No luck.
Just do what HEISENBERG said and the game is good to go even on win 11 :)

In regards to F's comment, you need to extract from Virtual-Resort-Spring-Break_Win_EN_ISO-Version-Original-Version the SPRINGBREAK.iso from within then mount it like a CD/DVD drive. Use can Demon Tools for this, this will fix the installation problems of how it wont let you progress to install the game.

I can't get past the part of the installation that tells me to select a program folder, it won't let me advance if I make a new folder or if I use an old folder and there's no option to skip. Please help?

so I think I messed sth up. I had the original beach life CD which I tried installing, but it didn't work on my windows 10. I tried to solve it, but I forgot what I did and now I tried to instal the version from this website, but it returns an error (mss32.dll and ijl15.dll wasn't found). I noticed I already have beach life installed (not sure if it's from CD or some another version) and I cannot even uninstall it (it says the installation support file could not be installed).
No idea what to do now, I would be grateful for any help

Download dgVoodoo 2 and copy DDraw.dll, D3DImm.dll from the \MS\x86\ folder to the game install directory

Download DDrawCompat and copy ddraw.dll to the game install directory

Download the patch from The Patches Scrolls site and run the .exe file (you'll need to do this only for Virtual Resort: Spring Break as Beach Life comes already pre-patched)

-Topless guests:
Press Shift-Alt-T to toggle topless guests on and off (not a fix but funny indeed)
Also, if you are using Windows 10 and the game is lagging, try following the instructions at pcgamingwiki.
If you're having trouble running it on Windows 10, try installing the 1.1 patch and running the game in XP Service Pack 2 compatibility mode.

Your website is awesome for the older games, I just downloaded Beach Life, and I thought it would be a big hassle, and ads and viruses, or just have to sign up to eventually have to pay, but it went smooth and I for one am very appreciative for the game. Kudos!
