Scooby-Doo!: Case File #1 - The Glowing Bug Man

Here are a few tips on running the game on modern systems:
Error "Injection: thread blocked eip=7743f8d1 addr=44fb4f" should disappear when you run DxWnd as an administrator.

Game installation:
1) The game has entries in the registry.

2) Codec
The videos use the Intel Indeo 5 codec, which is not supported on newer OS higher than XP
Not only will you not see the videos, but the game will also write that it wants to reinstall (maybe that's not your case).
The codec must be registered via the command regsvr32 ir50_32.dll from the game folder best run the command with administrator permission..
Then it worked on both W7 and W10.

3) In the folder
"C:\Users\Public\Documents\The Learning Company\Scooby-Doo\Case File #1\TLC Launcher" should exist files
launch.xml
installed.xml
launcherData.xml
(Files installed.xml and launcherData.xml may not be as important to launch, but to be sure
I left them there).
If some of These files are missing copy them from CD Directory 'HD\Launcher' to
'C:\Users\Public\Documents\The Learning Company\Scooby-Doo\Case File #1\TLC Launcher'

Note:
The game stores configuration and user based in
"C:\Users\Public\Documents\The Learning Company\Scooby-Doo\Case File #1\"
We can theoretically change this path (along with paths in registry) in
"YourGamePatg\Launcher\salrsc\salstartup.xml"
"C:\Users\Public\Documents\The Learning Company\Scooby-Doo\Case File #1\TLC Launcher"
but the result is that the game saves user profiles in the specified path, but the game progress still saves in the old path, so it doesn't matter.

Note:
If we want to play the game from the beginning, for example, with greater difficulty we can delete files
"TLC Case File #1 User #1.dat"
"TLC Case File #1 Users.dat"
This will clear the user's progress
and users.xml delete users (if exist).

4)
The game must be run via "Case File #1.exe" otherwise the game will complain about the missing CD.
You can also play the game in a window with DxWnd in that case, but the keyboard does not work in the game only after the focus is lost and restored will it work (this may no longer apply in the current version of DxWnd).

5) In order for the game to work without a CD, it was necessary to copy all the files from the CD from the "Scripts and Resources" folder to "Scripts and Resources" in the game folder.

I'm having a really strange situation..
I can start the game with the help of Daemon Tools Lite, however I get stuck in a loop where it shows me the intros, lets me pick the difficulty, shows me the cutscene when they arrive and then the loop starts again with the intros, I don't know what's wrong?

I was able to run it using Daemon Tools Lite, I tried it with Power ISO first but the file was too big to on the free trial version, but Daemon Tools pulled through for me. I had to uninstall and reinstall since it half-installed on Power ISO first, but after that I was able to mount it successfully :) I have a lot of good memories playing this on my mom's DEEP old monitor + PC set up, and it was a good walk down memory lane. I'm about to play every other game I can remember now lol

You must to install IndeoCodec due the game's video files if you want to play the game on Windows 10.

I used to play this when I was younger, and seeing on here makes me very happy. I still have the disc for this game but it won't run correctly on Windows 10, as it asks me to reinstall the game, so I'm going to attempt to play it in a VM on Windows XP.

I am able to install and open the game but everytime I enter my name and hit play it exits the game and says it needs to be uninstalled and reinstalled

Hi, I downloaded the file but it only has BIN and CUE. What do I do?

Hi! I go to boot up the game and the installer pops up. After that the games loading screen appers and when the progress bar reaches 26% an error appears stating that "Cannot update uninstaller log file" After that the game closes. I've tried downloading to different folders but nothing seems to work. Does someone know the solution to this?
